Rebooting - Leap of faith

Updated: Apr 7, 2021

Firstly Happy New Year!!!

It's been a while since I've posted anything on here, on my blog, on Youtube.

I have been busy with exams and other shenanigans called life. However, that is no excuse for the time lapse of not posting. The truth is the longer we leave something the harder and harder it gets to get back to it. It becomes easier to walk away from the dream and from your vision. You start to convince yourself it doesn't matter, I can't do it, who cares anyway?

But these negative thoughts are only self destructive, they don't help you learn or progress or reach your dream. They pull you into the abyss of nothingness and futility. It is far harder to keep going then to give up, to keep trying, keep getting back on the horse, keep fighting against your negative thoughts and self doubt.

But what then if you give up. You live an unfulfilled life always wondering what if? What if I had posted that video? What if I had taken that leap? What if I had tried? What if I gave it all I had?

The fear of regret is somehow a far scarier prospect than negative thoughts and self doubt.

The fact is your goal and your dream do matter! They are your purpose and your potential for greatness.

Of course, it is necessary to reassess goals and see if they are in alignment for what you want and who you are but if they truly are then of course they matter.

I can't do it is a myth you create for yourself to stop you achieving what you want. 'Nothing is impossible the word itself says I'm possible.' - Audrey Hepburn

I think we ought to all take a leaf out of Alice's book and imagine 6 impossible things before breakfast. That way the idea of the impossible and the I can'ts will slowly dissipate and seem entirely more possible.

Who care's anyway? Is the stupidest sentiment of all because of course even if no-one else cares YOU CARE that is why you have all of these negative thoughts and inner conflicts. You want to do it you're just afraid. And the fear stops you from pushing forward.

Overcoming fear and remembering how important your goals are to you are far more important than the pride you may lose or the embarrassment you might feel. In the grand scheme of things what does 2 seconds of embarrassment cost compared to a lifetime of regret?

Of course it is scary, of course it is hard. But the hardest things are almost always the most worthwhile.

And the biggest cliche but of course you'll never know unless you try and I don't mean a feeble attempt at trying. You need to give it everything until you feel you have nothing left to give!

There are two quotes which I feel are truly apt for this post from the Serpent king ( a fiction book I highly recommend about achieving dreams, love, endurance, what it means to live well)

1. If you're going to live, you might as well do painful, brave and beautiful things

2. You can't live with your heart locked up in a safe

I can't promise that I will be consistent with uploading content as I do not know what twists and turns life will throw at me but I can promise that I will try to with all my might to do the things that scare me and work on my goals. I will take that leap of faith and I urge you to too and see what wondrous things we can achieve :)

I hope this post helps you push forward with dreams and goals you might have been delaying or give you a boost in carrying on with your dreams when/if you feel like giving up.

With love

p.s. Charlotte Campbell's song Safe Harbour is also a great kick-starter for doing things that scare you X
